1. Service Description
ElectriCert, part of Utilities Combined Group, provides EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) inspections and electrical safety certificates for residential and commercial properties across Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. All inspections are carried out by NICEIC-certified engineers in accordance with BS 7671 (the IET Wiring Regulations).
2. Booking and Cancellation
By booking an inspection through our website, phone, email or WhatsApp, you agree to these terms of service.
You may cancel or reschedule your inspection free of charge with at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.
3. Access Requirements
You must provide our engineers with safe and unobstructed access to the electrical installation, including the consumer unit (fuse board), all circuits and all areas of the property that require inspection.
If adequate access cannot be provided, the inspection may be incomplete and this will be noted on the report. We may need to rearrange the inspection at an additional cost if access is not available on the day.
4. Power Interruptions
During an EICR inspection, the electricity supply may need to be switched off intermittently to safely test individual circuits. Our engineers will notify you before any power interruptions and will aim to keep disruption to a minimum. Please ensure any sensitive equipment is powered down or protected before the inspection begins.
5. Report Delivery
Your EICR report and electrical safety certificate will be delivered within 24 hours of the inspection being completed. Reports are sent electronically via email. The certificate remains valid for the period specified on the report, typically 5 years for rental properties and 10 years for owner-occupied homes.
6. Pricing
The price of your inspection will be quoted before the inspection takes place. There are no hidden fees. Payment is due upon completion of the inspection unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept bank transfer, card payments and other methods as specified at the time of booking.
7. Liability and Insurance
All our engineers are covered by professional indemnity insurance and public liability insurance. Details of our insurance cover are available upon request.
An EICR is a condition report based on sampling and testing at the time of inspection. It does not guarantee the absence of all faults and is not a warranty of the electrical installation. Our liability is limited to the cost of the inspection service provided.
8. Remedial Work
If faults are identified during an inspection, we may recommend remedial work. You are under no obligation to use our services for any remedial work, though we can provide a quotation if requested.
9. Complaints Procedure
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us and we will do our best to resolve the issue promptly:
- Email: electricert@utilitiescombined.co.uk
- Phone: 01442 601 383
We aim to acknowledge all complaints within 2 working days and to resolve them within 14 working days.
10. Governing Law
These terms of service are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
